Run, don’t walk – Trader Joe’s gluten free stuffing is back! Stuffing is one of the best parts of Thanksgiving dinner if you ask me. So trying to find the best gluten free stuffing is something I take very seriously. Keep reading to find out what brands are my favorite and taste the most like the real thing!
Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Stuffing
If you’ve ever tried to buy their gluten free stuffing you know it sells out very quickly. It’s a seasonal item, which is why I’m making this post now. I start asking the employees in September when they think their first shipment will arrive. It typically comes in the first week of October and I stock up for the holiday season. I bought 4 boxes just to be safe. Because I’ve made the mistake before of waiting too long to purchase their gluten free stuffing and I won’t be doing that again!
Stuffing is my favorite part of holiday meals so I have a few favorites that are gluten free. I’ve tried making it homemade and sometimes it turns out okay, but if possible I prefer to just use the box mixes, it’s such a timesaver on an already very busy cooking day.
The box has directions for cooking instructions on the stovetop, for oven casserole, and for stuffing into poultry or pork. My favorite way of making stuffing is in the oven!
Bell’s Gluten Free Stuffing
My other favorite gluten free stuffing mix is by Bell’s! Bell’s was my all time favorite stuffing before I was gluten free so when they made a gluten free version, I was SO excited. Again, like all stuffings- this item is seasonal. So, when I start seeing this in Stop & Shop I always stock up.
It’s made with the same Bell’s seasoning that they use in their regular stuffing mix. You can also sometimes find little packets of their seasoning, I’ve tried that before and added it to homemade stuffing.
This mix also has instructions for casserole stuffing, ‘ready in under 10 minutes’, and in-the-bird directions.
They also have a ‘customize your stuffing’ section and it gives you suggestions for additions to your stuffing like chopped celery, onions, mushrooms, pine nuts, or whatever else you’d like to add to your mix to spice it up!
You can also find a homemade gluten free stuffing recipe here on gluten-free palate. I have not personally tried that recipe but it looks delicious! Meaningful Eats also has a gluten free and dairy free stuffing recipe here!
Okay, so there are my favorite gluten free stuffings! As you can see, I’m actually pretty picky which is why I only shared with you the Trader Joe’s gluten free stuffing and Bell’s gluten free stuffing. It has to be the best of the best! I hope you can find these at your local stores and give them a try this holiday season!
