Gluten Free Road Trip Snacks
Being gluten free isn’t always easy. But, it’s especially difficult when you’re on the road. Most of the restaurants/rest stops you come across are catered for quick bites to eat. Generally, it’s not going to be gluten free. So, I think the most important thing for me is to be prepared and bring lots of my own snacks.
I like to bring lots of easy things to eat on the road. Such as fruit like – grapes, strawberries, bananas, apples. But I also like to have a little bit of junk food as well. Such as GF granola bars and gluten free chips. I also find it helpful to prepare sandwiches. Whether, it’s peanut butter & jelly, tuna, turkey. Whatever you like best, just make them the night before and throw them into a cooler in the back of your car. If you come across a Jersey Mike’s that’s a great place to stop because they have gluten free sub rolls and they have delicious subs. It’s one of my favorite places to eat when I’m on the road.
A great way to food prep for a road trip is to buy these plastic storage containers on amazon. It’s like packing your own little personal gluten free lunchable. You can put your sandwiches in there, fruit, cheese, gluten free crackers. It makes it incredibly easy to have all your gluten free road trip snacks in one place.
Okay, so those are my tips and recommendations for GF road trip snacks. If you’re like me and also going to be traveling soon, I also have an entire post where I go more in depth on gluten free travel snacks! Which I think is incredibly helpful for traveling.
