Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Course Appetizer
Servings 5

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Goat Cheese
  • 1 Egg [beaten]
  • 1/4 cup Corn Starch
  • 1/4 cup Gluten Free Italian Breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil [you can also use avocado oil]

Instructions

  • Roll the goat cheese into balls. Then place them onto a plate or flat surface and place them into the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes to firm up.
  • Before you take your goat cheese balls out of the freezer, get your bowls ready. You want a bowl with corn starch, a bowl for egg [beaten], and a bowl with your breadcrumbs.
*You don't want to give the balls any time to thaw out, this will help them from melting and retain their shape*
  • Once firm, roll the goat cheese balls in the cornstarch. Then, dip the coated goat cheese into the egg and let any excess egg drip off.
  • Roll the coated goat cheese ball into the breadcrumbs and coat them thoroughly.
  • Add your olive oil to a pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the goat cheese balls to the pan. Cook on each side until they are golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
  • Serve them however you choose!
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Goat Cheese Balls are the perfect bite sized appetizer. You can eat them really however you'd like. Like I said, if you're a Vanderpump Rules fan like me, you know they serve their with vegetables and a mango dipping sauce. You can also serve them with marinara sauce, which would be kind of like a mozzarella stick only with goat cheese! Delicious!
I like to eat mine in a salad! On top of a bed of lettuce I add purple grapes, honeycrisp apples, dried cranberries, candied walnuts [double check that they're gluten free], and a creamy balsamic salad dressing! It's perfection!
